Assistant Construction Manager / Construction Manager, Safety

The Position

 

  • Assist the Senior Construction Manager in managing the development of capital works projects of the Hong Kong Science Park;
  • Act as an emergency coordinator, promptly responding to emergency calls and taking necessary actions outside of regular working hours;
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive site safety management plans;
  • Administer and monitor the performance of resident site teams and contractors for the assigned project(s);
  • Liaise and coordinate with the project team, facility management team and external stakeholders, including government departments and utilities companies;
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing site safety standards and ensuring their effective implementation;
  • Prepare detailed site reports concerning the safety and quality aspects of the project(s);
  • Attend site meetings and conduct daily safety inspections and risk assessments;
  • Conduct investigations into accidents and injuries; identify preventive measures and prepare detailed reports;
  • Maintain accurate daily site records and properly file site documentation;
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
     

The Candidate

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Construction or equivalent.
  • Registered as a Safety Officer.
  • Have a minimum of 8 years of experience preferably in safety-related disciplines.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation, independence, problem-solving abilities, strong leadership skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing Class A offices and institutional buildings would be advantageous.
  • Possess familiarity with statutory and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Exhibit proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Candidates with less experience may be considered as Assistant Construction Manager, Safety.
