Assistant Director, Event Marketing and Community Engagement

We are looking for a seasoned event marketing leader who is a strategist and a storyteller to engage and resonate with our event participants both local and across borders.  He or she shall possess strong leadership to lead and drive the team to formulate impactful event strategy, identify and craft compelling story that can communicate the corporation’s mission, value and impact and curate unique and memorable event experience to our audience. He or she shall also be passionate to join the largest Innovation and Technology eco-system in Hong Kong.

 

The Position

 

  • Lead and drive team-mates to build unique and impactful event theme and messaging to engage our stakeholders both local and overseas; build brand awareness and create shared vision via compelling stories
  • Curate new, impressive and memorable event experience that tells our uniqueness and differentiation in the community and effectively conveys our messages to our audience across borders
  • Master impactful marketing and promotional assets to build awareness and momentum and draw fulfilling engagement and participation from the industry and the community around the globe
  • Research, analyse, interpret and present latest event marketing trend and data in a world perspective
  • Strategically lead a team to ideate, content curate, position brand identities, control budget vs expense to perform all-rounded planning and implementation of high-quality, large scale and influential B2B & B2C events to achieve the corporate objectives; and meet or even exceed targeted goals
  • Accomplish high quality and remarkable outcomes and manage to propose and make strategical, timely and decisive changes in the dynamic environment
  • Hire, manage and develop a high-performing team of event marketing professionals
  • Develop relationships and collaborate closely within own team/department as well as cross-functional partners
  • Perform any other duties as advised by the Director and the top management team

 

The Candidate

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, business administration or other related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally 12 years’ experience preferably in event marketing and community engagement, and gained in sizable / MNC corporations with at least 5 years of solid team leadership
  • Proven track record in driving large scale and impressive event experience with remarkable outcome and in compelling storytelling to convey impactful messaging to the industry and the community across borders
  • Strong written communication skills on promotional assets to captivate readers’ interest and drive engagement
  • Strong business sense, thorough understanding of the latest world marketing trend and experience in digital and content marketing would be an advantage
  • Strong leadership demonstration on tackling challenges, accomplishing remarkable results and growing the team and work well in a dynamic and rapidly changing workplace
  • Innovative, idea-driven, goal-getting, self-motivated, detailed-oriented and is able to work under tight schedule
  • Strong Tech industry network with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent in both written and verbal English and Chinese including Putonghua
