The Position

  • Formulate and lead the strategy and operations of the HKSTP Acceleration/Co-Acceleration Programmes to drive valuation growth for the startups (pre-A to A stage) portfolio under the programme
  • Act as the Responsible Officer with management responsibilities and duties to supervise SFC Type 4 & 9 regulated activities
  • Engage with potential clients and oversee the application, approval, and admissions processes
  • Collaborate with various internal business units and external ecosystem partners to provide guidance to startup teams in areas such as business development, strategic planning, and fundraising, etc
  • Oversee client progress towards business goals and provide corresponding services and resources to ensure their success on the growth journey, including training and research and development of new programmes and special projects
  • Drive, promote and organize special events and networking programmes for business and community leaders and organizations to strengthen community value 
  • Develop success stories and case studies that showcase the value created for the startups under the HKSTP Acceleration/Co-Acceleration programmes 
  • Formulate, review and update the operations procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach on a consistent basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

The Candidate

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Science or other related disciplines or equivalent; an advanced degree is preferred
  • 12 years of work experience, preferably gained in MNC, sizable organization and with a background in the startup ecosystem
  • Qualified Responsible Officer for SFC Type 4,9 regulated activities is a must
  • Proven track record of successful investments, with portfolio of companies demonstrating high growth and returns
  • Knowledge of best practices in business incubation, business accelerators, and development principles
  • A good understanding of the investor access processes for seed and growth funding, as well as budget development and management principles
  • Uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and excellent leadership and communications skills with the ability to lead and team and collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents in a diverse community and work well in a dynamic and rapidly changing workplace
  • Exhibit passion and excitement for the work
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Cantonese including Mandarin
