Assistant Accounting Manager

The Position

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with HKFRS and regulations; generate analysis and reports for internal management
  • Oversee accounts receivable, rental billings and other income collections per lease/license terms; monitor credit control, problematic accounts, and debt management
  • Manage daily AR operations, execute comprehensive collection activities, and implement strategies to maximize recovery rates while preserving customer relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams (account management, operations, legal) to enhance collections, resolve disputes and initiate legal actions as needed
  • Liaise with external legal counsel for settlements, debt recovery and proceedings
  • Ensure adherence to local tax laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Contribute to process re-engineering and automation initiatives for operational efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Handle additional ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned by management

 

The Candidate

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; achieved or in progress to pursue the HKICPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in management or financial accounting, auditing, finance operation and reporting etc. with at least 1 year in supervisory role
  • Proven experience and expertise in accounts receivable; practical experience in handling legal proceedings for debt collection is a definite advantage
  • Excellent team management and leadership abilities, communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding team player with self-motivation, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multi-functional and multiple tasks effectively
  • Experience in process improvement and workflow automation is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and collaborate with senior management to meet tight deadlines
  • Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
  • Excellent in both written and spoken Chinese and English
