Assistant Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs

The Position
 

  • Develop and implement effective communication and public affairs programs
  • Plan and execute the engagement strategies with stakeholders including journalists, editors, key opinion leaders, policymakers, legislators, and the public
  • Work independently or with external agencies to manage a comprehensive range of corporate communications and public relations activities, such as media events, releases, interviews, and media inquiry handling, etc.
  • Support on issue management and coordinate with business units to effectively shape public perception for the Corporation 
  • Craft bilingual communications for senior executives, including speeches, presentations, byline articles etc.
  • Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and social media. Stay updated on best practices in corporate communications and contributing to media strategies.
  • Actively seek out-of-the-box opportunities to promote the corporation. Stay updated on best practices in corporate communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Occasionally traveling to Mainland China and overseas are required

 

The Candidate
 

  • A bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Translation or equivalent
  • With at least 5 years of experience preferably with proven record of collaboration with government departments, District Councils, and political parties
  • Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
  • Prior experience in public statutory bodies / PR agencies are preferred
  • Strong connection with Think Tank, local and international media
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Good team player with strong analytical, problem solving, communication, and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent in both spoken and written English and Chinese including Putonghua
