We are now hiring a business development leader with extensive industrial expertise to join us in co-creating a premier global manufacturing hub that leverages advanced technologies. This role will be responsible for building potential pipelines, driving occupancy and land development within our InnoParks. Key responsibilities include:


The Position

 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to attract target tech companies to the InnoParks
  • Be accountable for prospective client solicitation and the development of engagement plans.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with industry representative organizations, government authorities, research institutes, start-up communities, etc. to build pipelines of business opportunities and to secure continuous business growth
  • Oversee the tenancy admission process such as applicant pipeline generation, tendering process, due diligence analysis, direct client relationship management and collaboration activities management
  • Drive and lead negotiations for leases and collaboration agreements, as well as finding solutions to issues that may be raised by potential clients
  • Keep abreast of technology trends, industry trends, and market intelligence and translate them into business opportunities
  • Analyze all current trends in policy and technology development of China and the global market, provide recommendations to HKSTP
  • Chair the programme activities to promote re-industrialization/InnoParks including roadshows, delegation visits and seminar/workshops
  • Work closely with facilities management and operations team to ensure seamless onboarding and support of tenant companies
  • Be an advocate in Advanced Manufacturing for Hong Kong and represent the HKSTP InnoParks to promote the Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem
  • Perform such other duties as assigned by the management


The Candidate

 

  • University’s degree preferably in Business, Engineering- or Science-related disciplines.
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience preferably in new business and market development and key account management in the manufacturing industry, of which at least 5-8 years in leadership capacity;
  • Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered;
  • Proven track record of successfully attracting and growing technology or advanced manufacturing sectors;
  • Knowledge in industries such as: Automation, Biomedical Technology, Chemical, Information Technology, Telecommunications would be an advantage;
  • Strong business acumen, problem solving and leadership skills;Extensive network with government bodies, universities, industries, academia, high tech parks etc.
  • Prior successful track record in business development outside of HK an essential consideration;
  • Experience in technical Research & Development management, manufacturing/factory establishment or management are preferable.
  • Knowledge in manufacturing line set up and automation development will be a definite advantage;
  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Energetic versatile and dynamic, mature and entrepreneurial flair with excellent interpersonal & influencing skills; passionate with can-do attitude;
  • Occasional  travel is required;
  • Fluency in written and verbal Mandarin and English is a must;
  • Candidates with less experience but with high potential may be considered for Associate Director
