Manager, Medical Device Testing Lab
The Medical Device Testing Lab (MDTL) is committed to providing our customers with world-class testing and technical solution services, upholding the highest integrity and impartiality. MDTL is capable of providing mechanical, physical, environmental testing, and more. Currently, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven professional to formulate and implement strategies, enhance service offerings, ensure compliance with accreditation standards and drive customer satisfaction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of medical device and gerontech testing, supporting R&D activities for biotech-related startup companies.
The Position
- Formulate and execute the business strategy for the Medical Device Testing Laboratory to align with corporate objectives and business goals
- Develop new services and enhance existing ones to facilitate R&D activities for medical device and gerontech companies in Science Park and the local community
- Drive initiatives to explore and acquire feasible accreditation standards to address the needs of medical device and gerontech companies
- Expand ISO 17025 accredited testing services and maintain the laboratory’s Quality Management System
- Ensure overall service quality, customer satisfaction, and adherence to good laboratory practices, privacy, and security, in compliance with corporate requirements
- Lead project planning activities, including budgeting, preparation of project briefs, procurement, and compliance with regulatory standards
- Oversee the execution of projects to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business goals
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned
The Candidate
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Science, Applied Science/Engineering, or other related disciplines or equivalent qualifications will also be considered
- 8 years work experience, preferably in testing and certification of medical device or gerontech products for regulatory approval
- Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
- Prior experience in product registration or obtaining marketing approval for of medical device or gerontech products
- Exposure to medical device or gerontech product consultancy is an advantage
- Strong business acumen with a broad and in-depth understanding of medical device and gerontech product testing at various stages of development
- Result oriented, proven leadership skills to develop and maintain a cohesive team, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to achieve business goals
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity to maintain high productivity and compliance with regulatory standards
- Excellent project management skills, including experience in budgeting, compliance, and procurement processes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities to address challenges in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth operations and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin
