About the program City I&T Grand Challenge

 

Launched in 2020, the City I&T Grand Challenge is an initiative to tackle problems facing the city and people in their daily lives by inviting innovative ideas from all walks of life. Winning teams are given financial support and training for refining their I&T solutions and developing prototypes for trials. The prototypes developed are exhibited to the public in a large-scale showcase event.  The successful candidate will join the project team and perform the following duties:

 

The Position

  • Facilitate Grand Challenge winning teams in successfully completing their prototyping and user trial objectives
  • Equip startups with guidance and essential resources to enable them to achieve high quality deliverables within budget and schedule
  • Arrange regular meetings with startups to identify and mitigate potential risks along the co-creation process

  • Manage junior staff to conduct due diligent checking for budget proposals, expenses approval documentation, prepare presentation materials and compile analytic status reports
  • Coordinate reporting to ITC, HKSTP senior management, and associated stakeholders
  • Provide all-rounded overall programme management support including but not limited to handling of startup communication, prototyping & trial activities, physical and virtual events, etc.
  • Perform any tasks as assigned 

 

 

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Innovation or other related disciplines or equivalent
  • 8 years of working experience, preferably in product design and development, project management, or innovation management
  • Project management experience in both hardware and software product development is preferred
  • Experience gained in Innovation & Technology industry with coaching University startups would be an added advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive, attention to details and a good team player
  • Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  • Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered.
