Manager, University Collaborations

This position will be responsible for supporting the team in providing account management to InnoHK research centres focusing on AI, robotics, sustainability & energy and advanced manufacturing. In addition, the appointee shall also support the team in managing IP / venture building and creation programmes and global deeptech incubation programmes, working closely with partner universities, research institutions both locally and around the world.  He/She shall also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support different events, activities and programmes organized / co-organized within / between the team and partners. 

The Position

• Provide account management support to a number of InnoHK research centre, supporting the industry engagement, talent development and research translations of the centres
• Support the IP and venture building and creation programmes, in collaborations with local and non-local university partners, InnoHK centres, etc
• Work closely with HKSTP Ideation and Incubation Programme Management team to support the design, planning and execution of DeepTech theme-based ideation / incubation programme, jointly with university partners and InnoHK Centres
• Act as relationship management for certain local and non-local university partners to build, maintain and expand partnerships and collaborations
• Organise events and activities, solely by the team or jointly with university partners, InnoHK centres, co-development partners, etc. for building startup pipelines, industry engagement, business referrals, investment opportunities and any value-added services to universities’ / InnoHK centres’ startups at HKSTP
• Work with both internal and external stakeholders and partners for any potential programme enrichment opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned

The Candidate

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Science, Engineering or other related disciplines
• 8 years of work experience, preferably with deeptech / research translation experience in startup / entrepreneurship / incubation programme management
• Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
• Strong leadership and project management skills and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address complex business issues
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically yet with meticulous and detail minded
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
