Manager, Venture Fund (4 months Maternity Cover)
The Position
Deal sourcing and Investment (30%)
- Work closely with the team from deal sourcing, due diligence and deal execution to portfolio management
- Conduct sophisticated financial modelling, valuation and return analysis
- Handle industry research, due diligence and other transaction execution work independently
- Prepare investment memoranda, presentations and paper circulars independently
- Partner with internal parties such as Strategic Account Management/Incubation/Acceleration Teams, Business Development, and external parties such as Universities, Government, and large corporates for a common goal
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Post-investment and Exit management (70%)
- Monitor and analyse financial and business updates of portfolio companies independently
- Value creation for portfolio companies and support them on problem solving and fundraising independently
- Execute divestment, including IPO and secondary sales
- Perform any other duties as assigned
The Candidate
- Degree holder or equivalent, in Engineering/Science, Finance/Economics or relevant disciplines, preferably with an MBA degree
- Minimum 8 years or above working experience in direct investment in technology sector
- Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, CAIA or CPA preferred
- Able to lead full-cycle investment and divestment processes independently, including working with lawyers, tax advisors, and other consultants
- Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines under a tight schedule
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including in Putonghua)
