The HKSTP Acceleration Programmes are investment-driven initiatives aimed at supporting high-potential startups in their growth and global expansion. We are seeking a suitable candidate to lead investment and manage startups portfolio in the artificial intelligence (core) and/or 2B SaaS sector . Key responsibilities include:
 
The Position

  • Manage and oversee the acceleration programme for technology startups such as designing and implementing customized strategies, coordinating with mentors and industry partners, and ensuring the smooth execution of the programmes
  • Conduct market research and startups mapping to actively identify and source potential investment opportunities across artificial intelligence (core) (from foundational layer, mid layer to application layer) and 2B SaaS sectors, and perform thorough due diligence and deal execution 
  • Provide insights, guidance, and mentorship to help startups navigate the challenges and opportunities within their industries
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Strategic Account Management/Incubation and Business Development, as well as external partners, including universities, government agencies, and large corporates, to achieve common goals
  • Track the performance of portfolio companies, providing regular updates and recommendations for further investment or support
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

 
The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Technology, or other related disciplines or equivalent; a master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA) is a plus
  • 10 years work experience, preferably in artificial intelligence, investment analysis, venture capital, startups, corporates or related fields
  • Well connected within artificial intelligence industry
  • Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem and the challenges faced by early-stage companies
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct thorough market research and financial analysis
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationship-building with diverse stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Familiarity with investment processes and portfolio management best practices
  • Experience in administering programmes and grants from the Government sources is a plus
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese including Mandarin
  • Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
