Senior Manager, Investor Engagement

The Position

This role focuses on providing investment expertise and advice to HKSTP companies, and subsequently matching capital-seeking HKSTP companies with investor.  This candidate is expected to provide coverage on advanced technology (including AI, micro-electronics), and life-and-healthcare technology (LHT) companies from early start-up stages through to later fund-raising rounds.  Duties include:
 

• Develop relationship and understanding with HKSTP’s companies and HKSTP’s investors then match capital-seeking HKSTP companies with investors
• Review and advise on corresponding business and capital raising plans including financial report interpretation, corporate finance, valuation, deal structuring and pitching
• Recommend HKSTP companies as appropriate to specific investors and facilitate subsequent discussions, with the ultimate goal of closing the relevant transactions
• Monitor industry trends and develop corresponding insights
• Support investor channel development team to develop theme-based investment pitching events
• Introduce new investors to enhance HKSTP’s investor network
• Build relationship and work closely with HKSTP’s account managers to ensure alignment of our capital-raising activities and advice with overall business development of our companies
• Handle other ad hoc projects as assigned

The Candidate
 

• A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finacne, MicroE, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Science or other related disciplines or equivalent
• 10 years of work experience, preferably in front-line role within either the private or public sector and or operations across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
• Track-record in financial/transaction advisory or investment management role would be highly desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in coverage of advanced technology and LHT companies in private investment capacities
• Exhibit passion for building start-up ecosystem for Hong Kong
• Knowledge of start-up development phases and acceleration means
• Uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and interpersonal skills in collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders
• Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
• Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered
