We are looking for a senior and seasoned event planner to join the largest Innovation and Technology ecosystem in Hong Kong.  The successful incumbent shall possess strong event planning and management skills to ideate, plan and implement impactful events for the City I&T Grand Challenge. This citywide competition aims to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds around the globe to submit innovative ideas and transform them into practical solutions for the challenges we encounter in our daily lives.

 

The Position

 

  • As the person in charge of planning and implementing events related to the City I&T Grand Challenge, which are city-prominent events targeting to engage thousands of participants for all walks of life.
  • Strategically ideate and content curate, craft event messages, position brand identities, work on budget and timeline, collaborate with government departments, partners, contestants and other stakeholders to deliver impactful and engaging events to all participants.
  • Prepare tender documents and work with the procurement department closely on all tender procedures including identifying potential tenderers, site-walk and briefing, conducting panel assessment, awarding vendors and other procedures to fully comply with procurement requirements.
  • Work with vendors all along to implement all planned events to meet and even exceed targeted goals.  Accomplish high-quality and remarkable outcomes and manage to propose and make strategical, timely and decisive directions and changes in the dynamic environment.
  • Work closely with other marketing and business units of the corporation to ensure event updates are shared timely and consolidated in an executive deck for presenting to top management for review and recommendations.
  • Monitor budget and event timeline prudently and achieve all project milestones.  Prepare budget vs expense report, post-events reports and survey analysis.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.


The Candidate

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication or equivalent.
  • 10 years of working experience in event planning and management, preferably gained in sizable / MNC corporations with at least 3 years of solid project leadership.
  • Higher education or professional qualifications with less experience will also be considered.
  • A strategic thinker and planner, a great problem solver, detail-oriented, goal-getting, result-driven, innovative, co-creative, energetic, bold to tackle and overcome challenges, and able to master and work under tight timeline to deliver remarkable results.
  • Proven track record in ideating, content curating and managing high-level, large-scale & impactful events, and mastering professional, trendy and effective marketing promotional assets.
  • Strong business sense, thorough understanding of the latest world event marketing trend and good experience in digital and content marketing.
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua.
  • Strong industry network with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Project Manager, Event Management.
