Senior Manager, Business Development (InnoHK)

The successful candidate will participate in developing strategies to engage with global leading universities and research institutes to support commercialization of technologies from their R&D efforts. He / she will be a key manager to our partner from InnoHK, and to ensure quantifiable commercial deliverables. Key responsibility outlined below:-

 

The Position

  • Manage the InnoHK accounts and engage the stakeholders to facilitate the best customer experience at Science Park
  • Nurture the spinoffs from research institutes in collaboration with HKSTP programmes and technology transfer activities
  • Collect market intelligence such as global technology trends, innovation landscape & industry needs and engage industrial partner to support and deploy innovative solutions in real applications·
  • Build the pipeline of technology commercialization opportunities and drive industry partnership formation with research institutes
  • Support marketing and business development activities including but not limited to delegation visits, roadshows, workshops and  networking events to foster collaborations between partners and achieve successful commercialization outcomes
  • Support other initiatives and perform such other duties as assigned


The Candidate

  • A bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering/Science-related subjects or other disciplines; MBA or PhD is preferred 
  • 10 years of experience, preferably in new business / market development
  • A track record of technology transfer / commercialization in any of the following areas will be a definite advantage – Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Healthcare, IoT, Fintech, microelectronics, advanced materials,  biomedical technology
  • Knowledge about technology transfer, incubation and investment of startups, technology trends, government policies and incentives for I&T development
  • Extensive network with academia, high-tech companies, industries, startup communities, investors, government and regulatory bodies
  • Strong business acumen, versatile and dynamic, entrepreneurial flair with excellent interpersonal & influencing skills
  • Good command of written and spoken Englsih and Chinese including Mandarin
